Advisors:

A family surviving meth addiction:

Martha “Marty” Humphreys, writer, editorial consultant and mother of a recovering crystal meth abuser/addict has recently been appointed as head of the Sanders’ County, Montana DUI Taskforce.   She has lived with the fear of living with a child who became addicted to meth after experimenting with other “gateway” drugs. She has dealt with law enforcement, counselors, schools, rehabs, insurance companies and her daughter from the first indication of her substance `abuse, through rehabs and relapse.

Tom Humphreys, retired Navy Pilot/high school math teacher, engineer, and Quartermaster for the VFW, Noxon, Montana, brings a father’s perspective to the tragedy of meth addiction in his daughter.

Annie Humphreys, recovering meth addict, mother of two recently graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and is preparing for a career in counseling.

Law Enforcement:

Sgt. Rickey Wheeler is a deputy sheriff with Grayson County Sheriff’s Department in Texas for more than 16 years, and more than 10 years in the Narcotics Division.

In addition, we have the cooperation of several law enforcement officials nationally and internationally to answer questions and keep up with the most recent information in the efforts to stop the spread of crystal methamphetamine in our communities.

We see what this drug does to families like yours and have experienced the loss of a loved one to the drug life.

We see clients with Symptoms of Crystal Meth Addiction.

We counsel their friends and family to recognize the Signs of Crystal Meth Addiction.

The Symptoms of  Methamphetamine Users can be present in a person for a long time without friends or family being aware of the crystal meth abuse..

Some of the more obvious Signs of Methamphetamine Users are:

        Hyperactivity

No need for sleep, then sleeping for days

        Meth bumps on the skin

        Lack of direct eye contact

        Sudden, dramatic weight loss

        Poor personal hygiene

        Excessive perspiration

        Irritation around the nose

Along with the more obvious Signs of Meth Use listed above, over time the increased sweating may lead to excessive bathing, the poor personal hygiene includes enamel damage to the teeth causing discoloration and loss.

Symptoms of Meth Use cause teachers to lose certification, nurses lose their license, children lose their parents, and parents lose their children.  We’ve seen all of this and more. One instance of a parent going to jail because their child was selling Meth from the family home, and another when an adult child brought crystal meth into the home so the parent was placed on probation,  are all part of the increased counseling around this drug.

These parents wished they had recognized the Signs of Meth Use before their contact with law enforcement.  “The Family First Aid Kit for Meth Addiction” contains all the information you need to prevent this happening to you and your family. And if it does happen, what you can do then to obtain Help For Meth User and Help For Meth Addict.

We see the drastic impact on children in the foster care system when their birth parents struggle with Addiction to Crystal Methamphetamine. In heart breaking sessions, these children wonder where their parents are, are they dead? And what was that funny smell everywhere they lived? Why did the police break in to arrest their parents?

Crystal Meth Abuse in their homes created lifelong nightmares, fear of sudden noises, and Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome for the hours they hid in the bathtub in the dark when the police broke into their home.

They cry for Help For Mom on Meth, Help For Dad on Meth, for Help.

They cry for their siblings, their pets, their grandparents, but most of all they cry for Mommy.  As they mature they wonder why Mommy and Daddy chose drugs over them….

Parents come to us for Help For Child on Methamphetamines. They wonder what they did or didn’t do that could have prevented their child turning to drugs rather than to them for help. Some have lost their child to death from overdose or suicide, others have lost their children to prison on drug charges, and still others have no idea of where their children are, what they are doing, or with whom, because it’s been weeks, months or perhaps years since the last time they were contacted by them.
